Our Story

Welcome to Keeping It Country!

Here at Keeping It Country we are a rural small owned family business run by myself (Jess) with help from my partner Fergus (he does the heavy lifting when it comes to helping set up at markets and is a surprisingly good sales man). This also includes our beautiful daughter Avah, our two dogs Mia & Ted and our five horses.

Most items here at Keeping It Country are designed and handmade by me, Jess and are thoroughly put to the test by our family before they hit the shelves. Any items I'm not able to make myself I source from other small New Zealand businesses and businesses from all over the world.

Our story started in 2021 when my other business (Nails & More by Jess) was starting to take off and I thought I would share some of my skull art I had created over the covid lockdown and I received a overwhelming positive response and people were asking where they could buy them so I created a website so people could see and purchase my artwork and from there was no stopping me, I just kept creating!

At the start of 2024 I decided to expand the art/craft side of my business and separate it from my nail business and Keeping It Country was born. We have continued to grow and are always looking to create and bring great quality items to like-minded people.

You will find us at our local shows & rodeos either with a stall, in the crowd,  sponsoring events, helping out the back or with our horses so if you see us feel free to say hi! We love seeing and talking customers and interacting with the wider community where we are.

We invite you to embrace the beauty of rustic living through our charming collection of our items available online or by appointment in our cosy studio.

To book a appointment feel free to give me a email in the 'Contact Us' section in the menu.

Thank you for coming on this journey with us. We hope you enjoy our products, as much as we enjoyed designing and creating them.
